For U.S. military veterans returning home, the transition to civilian life often is hazardous. The rates of unemployment and suicide among veterans who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan – particularly those injured in the line of duty – are staggering. So when we at TABB heard that a firm on Wall Street is actually putting its money where its mouth is and helping veterans get back to work, we thought it was important to tell the story.
Drexel Hamilton has in its mission statement a commitment to providing meaningful employment to disabled veterans –not just jobs, but careers. Anna Stumpf, TABB TV’s producer, spoke with the firm’s founder and president as well as a number of employees to get a better sense of how the firm fulfills this seemingly altruistic mission while at the same creating a profitable business.
